Bhimji Depar Shah (Kenyan Businessman) was born in 1932 (Mombasa, Kenya - East Africa-), his origins were very humble.

  1. His first business was a Petrol station in Nyeri (180 kilometers north of Nairobi, Kenya)
  2. Bhimji Depar Shah is considered one of the richest men in Kenya, with an estimated fortune of 700 million dollars
  3. In 1970, Bhimji Depar Shah founded Bidco Industries (garment production)
  4. Fifteen years later the company began soap production
  5. In 1991, the Bidco Group built a petrol plant
  6. Today the Bidco Group is one of the largest Kenyan conglomerates, with activities in several sectors: petrol and gas, manufacturing, farming, logistics, garments, and retail
  7. Bidco has industrial units in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda
  8. Bidco distributes his products in Burundi, the Comoros, Djibouti, the DR Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Malawi, Sudan, South Sudan, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
