Christianity and Islam can somehow be considered as inheritor religions of Judaism. The first, with Jesus Christ (who was Jewish), emerged as an alternative and renewal to Judaism while Islam (with Muhammad) arose partly as a reaction to the Hellenization of Christianity. Although we must remember that for the Muslims, Islam always existed.

“He shall judge between the nations, and impose terms on many peoples.
They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks;
One nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again.” Isaiah (2:2-5).

In some way, the Western culture, our way of seeing life, is indebted to Judaism. Great figures of the Western history as Jesus of Nazareth, Baruch Spinoza, Karl Marx, Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, Woody Allen or Steven Spielberg were Jews.

Despite their small number, only 14 million Jews worldwide - 0.2% of the World's population -(mainly in Israel with 6 million and The United States with 5.4 million), its influence on the international business it is very remarkable.

1. According to the Forbes magazine, of approximately 1,500 billionaires, 165 are Jews (11%) estimated that in total may represent a wealth of about 812,000 million dollars, seventeen of these Jewish billionaires live in Israel
2. The United States is the country with more Jews billionaires. There are also prominent Jews billionaires in Russia, Brazil, France, Spain, Ukraine, Canada, Monaco and the UK, with investments in strategic sectors: petroleum, telecommunications, social networking, steel, banking, transportation, or real estate
3. The philanthropic Initiative of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, “Giving Pledge” consists of the people of different religions: Christians, Jewish, Hinduism, or Muslims, and for agnostics and atheists. However, the overwhelming majority is Jewish

Judaism is a historical and prophetic religion, with more than 4,000 years old, at this time the Egyptian Civilization had built monumental pyramids, was the era of the vast empire of Summer and Akkad. However, the Jews were only a small wandering tribe. The Jewish people were able to reach a very high spiritual level, an effort that has continued until today. The Judaism is also a prophetic movement.

The Jewish people have been persecuted throughout the history. In almost all the nations have been expelled, limited their rights or even have been annihilated (genocide). They were deported in the Roman Empire, in Spain (Catholic Monarchs), Portugal, England, France, or Germany. Ukrainian Cossacks massacred them (Chmielnicki tragedy, perhaps 200,000 exiled and murdered), Russia suffered the radical violence called Pogroms (devastation in Russian) especially in the nineteenth century.

However, the high point of the anti-Semitism was Hitler's Nazi Holocaust, the Shoah (the catastrophe in Hebrew): 6 million dead, among them 1.5 million children were killed. Just think of the name used by the Nazi, the “final solution,” is chilling.

In the late nineteenth century, Theodor Herzl created an international political movement, Zionism, which sought the creation of a Jewish state in Israel; it was necessary to encourage the Jewish immigration to Israel, the Promised Land. In 1948, the “State of Israel” is proclaimed.
