Market Access - Trade Agreements

Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).

In 2006 Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia (*), Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, and Kosovo (Europe) signed an agreement to rectify and broaden the agreement.

(*) Croatia is a member of the EU since 2013.

The main objectives of the CEFTA are to:

  1. Expand the International trade in goods and services
  2. Promote the foreign direct investments using a fair regulations
  3. Eliminate the Technical Barriers to Trade between the Countries of the CEFTA
  4. Provide the appropriate Intellectual Property Rights protection and
  5. Harmonize the dispositions on regional trade policy (competition rules and state aid)

The Central European Free Trade Agreement provides a Framework for the members to prepare for the EU Accession.

The Central European Free Trade Agreement member countries belong to the Orthodox Economic Area.
