The European Union has agreed to extend the EU perspective to the countries of South-east Europe.

  1. Negotiations: Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey
  2. Candidate countries: Albania and Macedonia
  3. Potential candidate countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo

Any European nation which respects the EU values (liberty, democracy, human rights, freedoms, and rule of law) may apply to form part of the European Union.

The European Union Founding members are Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
