The Senegalese Africanist, Poet, and Politician Leopold Sédar Senghor (1906 -2001) is one the most influential intellectual of the African Civilization. He was the President of the Republic of Senegal for twenty years (1960 - 1980). He conceived the term “négritude” with Léon Damas and Aimé Césaire.
