Spoken by 230 million people, Portuguese is the language of Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, São Tomé, Guinea-Bissau and East Timor. There is a movement to make Portuguese one of the official languages of the UN.

Portuguese is spoken by 190 million people in South America, 16 million of Africans, 12 million of Europeans, 2 million in North America and 330,000 in Asia.
