The Republic of Chile was a founding member of the Andean Community (CAN) in 1969 and retired from the CAN in 1976.

  1. Foreign Trade between the Andean Community (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru) and Chile: 4,655 million dollars (35%  reduction over the previous year)
  2. Andean Community exports to Chile: 2,328 million
  3. Main Andean exporter to Chile: Peru
  4. Exports from Ecuador to Chile reached 896 million dollars (represented 39% of the Andean exports to Chile)
  5. Peru, Colombia and Bolivia represent 31, 27 and 3% respectively of the foreign trade

Chile and Peru are members of the APEC and belongs to the Hispanic American Economic Area.
