The objectives of the course are the following:

The International air cargo transport is developing at an increasing rate in the recent years, the air carriers have been able to offer an ever widening range of services.

The most important feature of this type of transport is the speed, becoming an irreplaceable type of transport for the perishable goods (fish, flowers, etc.) and for high value products.

  1. Freight transport costs can be paid in advance or at destination and even against reimbursement
  2. Fares of the air freight shall be considered both weight and volume, without there being a volume penalty, except when the volume / weight ratio is greater than 6 to 1
  3. When calculating the air fares, the IATA Stowage Coefficient is used: Pv
  4. The most often used Incoterm is the FCA

IATA, the International Air Transport Association, is the global organization that brings together the regular airlines and the companies that transport the great mass of the national and international traffic.

AWB air transport documentation.

The AWB (Air Waybill) is issued by airlines in sets of three originals and at least six copies. It can also be issued by an agent of the company.
