Sheikh Anta Diop is considered the most influential African Historian.

The Senegalese Historian, Politician, and Anthropologist Sheikh Anta Diop (1923 - 1986) is considered the most influential African historian. Through his works; he defended that the Egyptian civilization has African roots, even his DNA analyses of the mummies showed this relationship. He also demonstrated that Wolof, a Senegalese ethnic group, had its origins in the Egyptian Civilization.
